Description : Tree 6–20 m high. Leaves 1-pinnate, with foliaceous pseudostipules; leaflets 4–8 pairs. Flowers several in a terminal raceme-like thyrse. Calyx spathaceous, ribbed, 4–6 cm long, beaked, thinly velutinous. Corolla orahge-red, broadly campanulate above a cylindric basal tube, 8–12 cm long; Capsule erect, lanceolate-oblong, 15–20 cm long, dehiscing on one side; valves boat-shaped, keeled.
Distribution : Native to tropical Africa.
Vernacular : Khae saet (แคแสด).
CommonName : African Tulip Tree; Fire Bell.
