Description : Small to medium-sized evergreen tree, 10–25 m high. Leaves 2–3 pinnate, 24–40 cm long; leaflets elliptic, elliptic-lanceolate, 5–10 by 1.8–3.5 cm, usually unequal-sided, glabrous; apex acuminate to caudate; sometimes obliquely acute at base; with scattered minute glands below at base. Thyrse very short or raceme-like, 1–4 cm long, terminal or ramiflorous at the twig ends, few-flowered, glabrous. Calyx 8–17 by 6–8 mm, smooth, glabrous, sometimes microscopically lepidote. Corolla yellow to orange-yellow, with a short cylindric basal tube, 7–10 mm long, the tubular-campanulate part 2.6–3 .8 cm long. Stamens hairy at insertion. Capsule 26–40 cm long; valves 3–4 mm broad. Seeds ca 10 by 2 mm.

Distribution : Hainan (type), Indochina.


Ecology : By streams in evergreen forests both primary and secondary.


Vernacular : Kaki (กากี)(Peninsular); ang-kial-bo (อังเกียลโบ๊ะ)(Khmer-Southeastern).
