Description: Perennial herb, branches trailing, most parts pubescent with minute stellate and simple hairs. Leaves broadly ovate or cordate, 2–7.5 by 2–7 cm, gradually reducing in size towards apex; base cordate; apex acuminate; margin crenate-serrate; basal veins 7–9; petiole subsessile to 5 cm long. Stipules filiform, 3–7 mm long. Flower axillary, solitary; pedicels slender, 1.5–4 cm long, articulated ca 5 mm from apex, becoming knee-shaped. Calyx campanulate, 3–5 mm long, 5-lobed; lobes triangular, reflexed after anthesis. Petals 5, white to creamy yellow, obovate, 5–10 by 4–7 mm, apex rounded, clawed at base. Staminal column ca 3 mm long, antheriferous at apex; filaments 0.5–1 mm; anthers 1-thecate. Ovary 10–15 locules, depressed globose, 1–1.5 mm in diam.; stylar branches 10–15, 3–4 mm long; stigmas capitate. Schizocarp subglobose, inflated, lantern-shaped, 1–1.5 cm in diam., pendulous, loculicidal (dehiscent), walls membranous, transparent, hirsute; stalk to ca 3 cm long; mericarps (8)10–15, elliptic or semicircular, ca 10 by 5 mm, 2–3 seeded.
