Description: Climber, densely pubescent. Leaves opposite, pinnate 5-foliate, petiole 5–10 cm; leaflet ovate, 3–11 cm long, entire or 3-lobed, sparsely pubescent on both surfaces; base subcordate to rounded; apex acute to acuminate; margin denticulate; basal veins 5–7; petiolues 3–5 cm. Inflorescences axillary, cymose panicle, densely pubescent, many flowered; peduncle 3–20 cm; bracts 2, foliaceous or simple, ovate; bracteoles to 5 mm long. Flowers campanulate, 2–2.5 cm in diam, 2.7–3 cm long; pedicel 1–3.5 cm long. Sepals 4, petaloid, valvate in bud, erect, oblong, 2–3 cm, apex acute or rounded, recurved, pubescent. Petal absent. Stamens numerous; filaments filiform, dilate downwards, ca. 1 cm long, pubescent; anthers introse, linear, 3–7 mm, glabrous, apiculate downwards. Carpels numerous; ovaries 1-ovule, puberulous; style elongate, 1.3–1.5 cm, villous. Achenes aggregated, obovate, 3–8 mm long, compressed, pubescent; tails (persistent style) 3–5 cm, plumose, 3–5 mm long.

Distribution: India, Nepal, Bhutan, S China, Myanmar, Indochina and northern Thailand, recorded from Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, edges of montane forest, 1,000–2,100 m
