Description: Annual herbs, to 60 cm tall. Rosette leaves opposite, broadly ovate, to 1.8 cm long, sessile, early caducous. Cauline leaves connate-perfoliate and nervation radiate, 1–3 cm in diam., sessile. Inflorescences cymose, flowers 1–15 mostly in monochasia, to 9 mm long, sessile; bracts foliaceous, perfoliate, orbicular, persistent. Calyx inflated urceolate, 7–8 x 4–5 mm, 4-lobed; lobes triangular, ca 1 mm, apex acute. Corolla white, with yellow patch at base inside, salverform, 7–9 mm long, 4(5)-lobed; lobes spathulate, 2–2.3 mm, apex obtuse. Stamens 4, isomorphic; filaments inserted ca at the middle or upper part of corolla tube, equal in length, 2.2–2.3 mm long; anthers ca 1 mm long. Ovary superior, obovoid, 3–4.5 mm long, 1-locular, ovules numerous; style filiform, to 5.5 m long; stigma bilobed. Fruit a septicidal capsule, oblong, ca. 5 mm long. Seeds numerous.

 

Distribution: Distributed in Burma and Thailand, recorded from Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi and Tak, on limestones, 100–1,200 m.
