Description: Lower shrub, to ca 1.5 m tall, most parts pubescent; stem: nodes without a band of hairs; exstipulate. Leaves decussate, oblong to oblanceolate, usually 15–30 cm long; apex acuminate; base cunete to rounded; blabe pilose above; margin remotely denticulate, ciliate; secondary nerves 8–10 on each side; petioles 1.5–9 cm long. Inflorescences cymose, erect, loosely flowers, 10–35 cm long; bracts leaf-like, 1–9 cm long; bracteoles filiform; pedicels 0.5–1 cm. Flowers zygomorphic. Calyx 5, shortly connate, glandular hairy; lobes lanceolate 5–7 mm long. Corolla white; tube to ca 1.5 cm long; lobes obovate, unequal, 0.8–1.5 cm long. Stamens didynamous, inserted within corolla tube, alternate with corolla lobes; filaments long exerted, 3 cm long, glabrous; anthers dorsifixed, 2-lobed, opening by longitudinal slits, ca 2.5 mm, sagittate at base. Distribution: Distributed in Vietnam and Thailand, in Thailand found in most regions, except in the southeast and peninsular, mixed deciduous to montane forests, also on limestones, 150–1,550 m. | |
