Description: Undershrubs, to ca 30 cm tall, monoecious; stem, branchlets, stipules, nerves, petioles, flowers, bracts, capsule and pedicels reddish. Stipules minute, narrowly triangular. Leaves alternate, distichous, broadly elliptic to ovate, to ca 1 cm long, glabrous; base oblique; apex blunt acute; margin revolute; secondary nerves 4–6 on each side; petioles ca 0.5 mm long. Flowers axillary; bracts minute, subulate; petals absent; pedicels filiform. Staminate flowers 2–4, fasciculate in lower axils; sepals 4, ovate, 1.5–2 mm long, with long fimbriate margin; disk glands 4; stamens 4, staminal column ca 0.2 mm long, anthers transversely dehiscent; pedicel 0.4–1 cm long. Pistillate flower solitary in upper axils; sepals 5–6, ovate-oblong, 1.5–3 mm long, with long fimbriate margin, persistent; disk glands 5–6; ovary 3-locular, papillose-puberulous; styles 3, free, ca. 0.1 mm long; stigmas bifid, ca 0.2 mm long; pedicel 0.7–1.7 cm long. Capsule slightly 3-lobed, 2.5–3 mm diam., papillose-puberulous. Seeds 2 per locule, trigonous, 1.5–1.8 mm long, surface transversely striate.

 

 

Distribution: Endemic to Thailand. Known only from Doi Hua Mot, Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary, Tak Province, open limestone areas, ca 900 m.

Thai name: มะขามป้อมดินหัวหมด (Ma kham pom din doi huamot)
