Description: Terrestrial sympodial orchid; corms irregularly ovoid, 3–8 cm long. Leaves 2–4, developing during anthesis; psedostem 12–30 cm long; blade oblong to lanceolate, 25–50 cm long. Inflorescence racemose, erect, to 170 cm long, many flowers, lax. Flowers resurpinate, yellow, with purple spots inside labellum sac. Sepal 3, free; dorsal sepal elliptic, ca 3.5 ซม long; lateral ones slightly larger. Petals 3, free; lateral petals obovate, rounded, ca 2.9 cm long; labellum broad elliptic, ca 3 cm long, saccate at base, apex 3-lobed with broadly spathulate middle lobe, 3 verrucose keels towards base. Column glabrous, 1.6–1.7 cm long with short foot; anther with 2 small horn-like on top; pollinia 2, hard; rostellum a strap-shaped with linear viscidium. Ovary 3–4 cm long including pedicel. Fruit a capsule, dehiscing by longitudinal slits.

 

 

Distribution: Distributed in India, Nepal, Myanmar, S China, Laos, Vietnam. In Thailand recorded from Lamphun (Mae Ping) and Phetchabun, in open deciduous dipterocarp forest, ca 550 m.

Thai name: เอื้องบุษราคัม (ueang bu sara kham)
