Description: Perennial herb, stems creeping, rooting at nodes, coarse stiff hairs on stem, petioles and leaves surfaces. Leaves opposite, oblong to ovate-lanceolate, 10–19 cm long, apex acute, base cunete to obtuse, margins double serrate, coriaceous; petioles 2–8 mm long. Inflorescences single capitula; peduncles 2–5 cm long. Capitula 12–18 mm diam.; involucres subglobose, ca 5–8 mm; phyllaries 5–6, biseriate, oblong, subequal; paleae lanceolate, scarious. Ray florets pistillate, 5 per capitulum, uniseriate; rays yellow, oblong, ca 8 mm long, apex 3-partite. Disc florets bisexual, 5–7 per capitulum, dark-yellow, ca 4 mm long, 5-lobed, hairy. Stamens 5; anthers black. Ovary inferior, unilocular; style apically bifid. Achenes subtrigonal, 3.5–4.5 mm long, sharply angled, angle with apical peaks, tuberculate; pappus crown-like, dentate, 1 or 2 bristles.

 

Distribution: Endemic, recorded from Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun and Kanchanaburi, on mountain slopes motane forest, 1,200–1,850 m alt.
