Description: Herb, to 1.2 m tall, glabrous. Leaves opposite, obovate to spatulate, 2–15 × 1–6 cm; apex obtuse; base attenuate and amplexicaule; margin shallowly and irregularly crenate to subentire; petioles short or to 3 cm long. Inflorescences terminal, compound cyme; basal bracts leafy, opposite, linear to lanceolate, 2.5–8 cm; flowers many; bracts opposite, linear, 0.5–1 cm. Flower 4-merous, salverform, yellow to orange; pedicels 0.5–1.5 cm. Sepals basally subconnate , lobes narrowly triangular, acuminate. Corolla tube urn-shaped, ca 1.5 cm; corolla lobes elliptic, 0.8–1 cm, spreading, acuminate. Stamens 8, inserted at corolla throat; filaments short, unequal. Nectar scales linear, ca. 3 mm. Carpel 4. Follicles elliptic, 0.6–1 cm, apiculate. Seed small, numerous, with longitudinal striate.

 

 

Distribution: Distributed in SW Asia, India, Nepal, Pakisatan, Bhutan, China, Taiwan and SE Asia. In Thailand recorded from northern and southwestern regions, commonly found on limestone outcrops, 400–700 m. It is closed to Kalanchoe crenata (Andrews) Haw., an African species, and sometimes is considered as a synonym of K. integra var. crenata (Andrews) Cufod. It is also known as an ornamental plant and the flowers can come in yellow to pink or red. In addition, the Plant database website lists K. integra as a synonym of K. deficiens Asch. & Schweinf.
