Description: Herbs, 10-60 cm tall, green to reddish brown purple, most parts with spreading hairs; stems rarely branced. Leaves opposite below, alternate above, ovate, ovate-oblong or lanceolate, 1-5 cm X 0.3-1.2 cm; apex obtuse to rounded; base attenuate to the petiole; margin entire or loosely 2-3 dentate. Bracts foliaceous; bracteoles 2, setaceous, 1-2 mm long, hispid. Flowers solitary, axillary. Calyx spathulate, 1-1.5 cm long, lobes reduced to 3 mucros. Corolla funnelform, 2.5-3.5 cm; tube purple-red or pale yellow; lobes white to pale pink, orbicular, 3-4 mm, lower lobes 3, upper lobes 2. Stamens 4, didynamous, adnate at corolla tube; filaments woolly towards apex; anthers unequal, spured at base. Ovary glabrous, 2-locular, 1 fertile. Style filiform; stigma biflabellate. Capsule oblong, 0.8-1 cm long, apex mucronate. Seeds numerous, oblong, ca 0.6 mm long.

 

Distribution: Endemic, recorded from northern in Tak, northeastern in Phukradueng and Nahaeo, easter in Ubon Ratchathani and Si Sa Ket, and southwestern in Kanchanaburi. Locally common in savanna aqnd pine forest, to ca 1,300 m.
