Description: Scrambling shrub; densely yellowish hairs on young branches, young leaves, petioles and inflorescences. Stipules minute. Leaves opposite, elliptic or ovate, 3–11 cm long; apex short acuminate or rounded; base rounded tov subcordate; margin dark-coloured; upper surface shiny; lower surface without glands and marginal gland dots, often with 1 or 2 pairs of dark-coloured near base; lateral veins 3–7 pairs; petiole 0.6–1 cm long. Inflorescences racemose, up to 12 cm; peduncle short; pedicels pubescent, 0.4–1.5 cm long, articulate below the middle; bracts lanceolate, ca 2 mm long; bracteoles acute, ca 1 mm long. Flowers zygomorphic. Calyx 5 lobes, imbricate; elliptic, apex rounded; base truncate, ca 1.5 by 0.8 mm; calyx glands small, inconspicuous or absent. Petals 5, white or yellowish, suborbicular, 3.5–4 by 3.5–4 mm; apex rounded; base truncate or auriculate; margin ciliate; claw 1–2 mm. Stamens 10; filaments 1–2.5 mm; anthers 0.5–1 mm. Ovary 3-locular, hairy; style ca 4 mm long, glabrous. Fruit a schizocarp; mericarps hairy; middle wing oblong, 2–2.5 cm long, apex 2-lobed or rounded; lateral wings oblong, 1–1.2 cm; stalk 1.5–2 cm long. |
Distribution: Endemic, recorded from north-eastern in Loei, south-western in Petchaburi (Kaengkrachan) and Prachuap Khirikhan (Huai Yang, Sam Roi Yot), and peninsular in Phangnga and Phatthalung, scattered on limestone hills, to 500 m. |
