Description: Epiphytic shrub, to ca 1.5 m tall; tuber woody, large; sparsely to densely glandular hairy on young twigs, lower surface of leaves, petioles, inflorescences, pedicels, bracts and calyx. Leaves spiral, elliptic, obovate to oblanceolate, 1–4 cm long; apex and base acute or obtuse; margin revolute; secondary nerves 4–7 on each side; petioles 1–3 mm long. Inflorescences corymbose, 2–4 cm long, 3–7 flowers; bracts elliptic to lanceolate, 4–8 mm; bracteoles 2, small, inserted at base of the pedicels. Corolla white-pink campanulate, 0.7–1.5 cm long; lobes 5, narrowly triangular, 6–7 mm, recurved. Stamens 10; filaments flat, ca 4 mm long, forming a tube but not fused; anthers to ca 7 mm, opening by elongate pores, spurs 2, 1.5–2 mm long. Ovary inferior, 10-locular; style filiform, 1.2–1.6 cm long; stigma truncate. Berry globose, 4–7 mm in diam.; black when ripe. Seeds numerous; flattened, testa reticulate.

 

 

Distribution: Endemic to northern and northeastern Thailand, scattered on tree trunk or rocks in open sandstone montane forest, 1,200–1,500 m.
