Description: Small tree, to ca 15 m tall. Leaves opposite decussate, 2-pinnately compound, pinnate leaflets 2–3 pairs; leaflets 1–2 pairs, entire, elliptica, 2–8 cm long, unequal, apex acuminate, base acute, scattered glands below; petiolues 0.3–1 cm long, terminal ones up to 3 cm long. Inflorescences cymose paniculate on twigs or stem, 5–12 cm long; cymes short. Calyx campanulate, 5–6 mm long; apex shortly 5-lobed, unequal, scattered glands outside. Corolla bright yellow, funnelform-campanulate; tube ca 4 cm long; limb slightly bilabiate; lobes shortly rounded, spreading. Stamens didynamous, glabrous. Disc annular. Ovary 2-locular, terete; ovules numerous, 2-rowed in each locule. Style filiform, included; stigma 2-lobed, ligulate. Capsule terete, 2-angular, slightly twisted, 35–45 cm long; septum compressed, thin ca 3 mm. Seeds numerous, compressed with transparent membranous wing at both ends.

 

 

 

Distribution: Distributed in northern Vietnam and northern Thailand, recorded from Doi Tung, Chiang Rai, ca 1,300 m altitude.
