Description: Terrestrial orchid; leaves 5–8, conduplicate, oblong to lanceolate, 7–25 cm long; apex tridenticulate; blade with purple-marked near to base on lower surface, sparsely ciliate at base. Inflorescences usually 1-flowered; peduncle 17–48 cm long, pubescent; bract lanceolate, 1.5–2 cm long, ciliate. Sepals 3, whitish green; dorsal sepal with purple-brown towards base along margins, ovate, 2.7–4.5 cm long, apiculate, basal margins recurved; synsepal elliptic, 2–3 cm long. Petals 3, purple-pink, greenish below with brownish red spots on upper part, spathulate with acute or tridenticulate apex, 4.4–5.8 cm long, slightly twisted ca half apical part; labellum slipper-shaped, pale yellowish brown with darker veins, 3.6–4.6 cm long, apex deeply dentate. Staminode pale yellow to pale purple with greenish marks, broadly elliptic, 7–9 mm long, tridentate at apex. Ovary and pedicel 3–6 cm long, purple, pubescent.

 

Distribution: China (Hainan), Indochina and southeastern Thailand, in shaded evergreen forest, near to streams, 600–700 m.
