Description: Epiphytic climber, to ca 3 m long, most parts glabrous. Leaves opposite; oblong to lanceolate, 10–18 cm. long; apex short caudate; base cuneate to rounded; blade leathery; secondary nerves 10–15 on each side; petiole 1.5–2.5 cm long. Inflorescences pseudumbelliform, terminal or axillary, globose with 20–30 flowers; peduncle 1.5–3 cm; pedicel 2–2.5 cm. Sepals 5, elliptic, 1.5–2 mm long. Corolla 5-lobed, ca 1 cm in diam., often reflexed; lobes triangular-ovate, puberulent inside. Corona lobes thick, inner angle ending in to a spur, ca as long as anthers. Stamens 5, anthers adnate to stigma; pollinarium ca 0.8 mm long. Follicles linear, 13–20 cm. long. Seeds elliptic to oblong, ca 5 mm long; coma to ca 3 cm long.

 

 

Distribution: India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Indochina. In Thailand recorded from Chiang Mai (Doi Inthanon, Doi Chiangdao), Nan (Doi Phukha) and Nakhon Nayok (Khao Yai), scattered on trees or limestones in montane forest, 1,000–2,000 m.
