Description: Epiphytic orchid, monopodial, stem to ca 30 cm. tall. Leaves many, distichous, coriaceous, linear, 10–18 cm long, conduplicate toward base, apex 2–3-lobed. Inflorescences 1–3, 20–40 cm, 5–14-flowered, loosely; peduncle 16–22 cm; bracts ovate 0.8–1 cm long. Flowers 6–9 cm across; pedicel and ovary 45–60 mm; sepals and petals similar, tessellated, obovate, apex rounded, short claw; sepals 3.5–5 cm long; petals 3–4.5 cm long; lip shorter than sepals, blue, fleshy, 3-lobed; lateral lobes falcate, ca 3.5–5 mm long, apex acute; mid-lobe deep blue, oblong, 1.7–2.5 cm long, 3 longitudinal keels, base with a pair of calli, apex emarginate; spur tubular, 5–7 mm long. Distribution: NE India, S Yunnan, Upper Myanmar, N & SW Thailand, recorded from Chiangmai, Mae Hongson, Lampang, Tak and Kanchanaburi, on tree trunks, in deciduous and montane forests, 800–1,700 m.
