Description: Woody climber; branches glabrous, lenticellate; nodes sparsely white hairy. Leaves opposite, elliptic to oblong, 5.5–12 cm long; apex acuminate; base rounded, mostly with 2 glands; lower surface with marginal gland dots; lateral veins 4–8 each side; petiole thick, ca 5 mm long. Inflorescences racemose, axillary or terminal, to c. 14 cm long, usually glabrous. Flowers many, slightly zygomorphic; pedicels 1–2.2 cm long, articulate below the middle; bracts triangular, c. 2 mm long; bracteoles c. 1 mm long. Sepals ovate, c. 2.5 mm long, apex acute to rounded, glands very small, inconspicuous. Petals pinkish white, obovate or suborbicular with fimbriate margin, lobes 8–10 mm long, claw 1.5–2.5 mm long. Stamens 10, the longest one 8–9 mm, the shorter ones 3–5 mm long; anthers c. 1 mm long. Ovary superior, 3-lobed, ca 2 mm in diam; style curved, c. 1 cm long, glabrous. Fruit a scizocarp with 3 mericarps, each with 3 wings, reddish brown turning brown, mostly glabrous, sometimes sparsely hairy; middle wing oblong, apex rounded or lobed, 3–4.5 cm long; lateral wings 1.5–2.2 cm long.

 

Distribution: S Vietnam, Cambodia and SE Thailand, scattered in dry evergreen forest, near the coast, under 100 m.
