Description: Herb; stem 60–90 cm, papillose; bulb broadly ovoid to subglobose, 1–2.5 cm in diam., white; scales freshy, white, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 2–2.2 cm long. Leaves scattered, alternate, linear or linear-lanceolate, 4–7.5 cm long, glabrous, papillose at margin and on midvein abaxially, sometimes white pubescent on both surfaces. Inflorescences terminal, racemose; flowers 1–3, nodding or suberect, campanulate. Tepals 6, recurved, white, with purple to red spots; outer ones lanceolate, 6.5–8.5 cm long; inner ones slightly wider; nectaries at base inside, not papillose. Stamens 6, converging; filaments filiform, 3–3.5 cm og; anthers dorsifixed, versatile, 0.8–1.5 cm long. Ovary 3-locular, 1.5–2.5 cm; style slender, 2.2–2.6 cm.; stigma swollen, shallowly 3-lobed. Capsule oblong, ca 3.5 cm long.

 

Distribution: S China, Myanmar and N Thailand, found only in Doi Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai, in open limestone and pine forest, 1,500–1,800 m.
