Description: Herb, 30–80 cm tall, stem quadrangular. Leaves oblong to lanceolate 2–6 cm long; apex acute; base attenuate; veins 1–3, sessile. Inflorescences cymose panicle, spreading, many flowers. Flowers 4 merous, pedices 3–7 mm long. Calyx lobes lanceolate 6–9 mm long, apex acute, 1–3 veins, tube short. Corolla white-pale purple with many purple spots, lobes elliptic, 0.5–1.4 cm long, apex acute, margin inflexed, with one nectar gland per lobe, covered with small rounded scale, margins minute fimbriate. Stamens 4, filaments 2.5–4 mm long; anthers ellipsoid 1–2 mm long. Ovary ovoid, style short, stigma capitates. Capsule ovoid-oblong, 4–8 mm long. Seeds numerous small.

 

Distribution: India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Indochina. In Thailand found in northern, northeastern and eastern, in savanna, deciduous dipterocarp forest or open limestone hills, 200–1,000 m.
