Description: Woody climber, young shoots glabrous. Leaves opposite, elliptic, oblong or ovate to broadly lanceolate, 5–14 cm long; apex acute to acuminate; base acute to obtuse or rounded; 1–2 secondary nerves arising from near the base of each side and forming loops, 2–3 obscure lateral nerves on each. Inflorescence terminal on side shoots, 1–3 flowers; bracts linear, ca 0.2 cm long; pedicels 2–4 cm long. Calyx 5, tube ca 0.2 cm long; lobes subulate, 0.6–1 cm long. Corolla white, not fragrant; tube 2.5–3.5 cm long; lobes 7–9, oblong-elliptic, ca as long as the tube. Stamens 2, inserted in the tube; filaments short, anther with short appendage. Ovary barrel shape, style simple, stigma 2, elongate. Fruit a pair, sometimes only one developed, berry, ellipsoid, to 1.2 cm long, turning black when ripe. | | | |
Distribution: Cambodia and SE Thailand, recorded from Chanthaburi (Makam, Khao Soi Dao, Khao Kitchakut, Plio Falls, Khao Sabap), Trat (Khao Saming, Khao Kaup, Ko Chang, Nong Bon), in evergreen and mountain forests to ca 2,000 m.
