Description: Terrestrial orchid, 10–15 cm tall; rhizome corm like, subglobose, to ca 2 cm diam. Leaves plicate, chartaceous, oblong to lanceolate, 1–3 x 4–12 cm, outer leaves much reduce; apex acuminate; nerves many; leave sheaths clasping stem. Inflorescences axillary, racemose, erect, not branched, to ca 20 cm long, with 3–10 flowers, 2–4 flowers open at a time; bracts and bracteoles persistent; bract oblong to lanceolate, to ca 1 cm long; bracteoles similar to bract, 0.3–0.6 cm long; pedicels to ca 1 cm long. Sepal 3, free, oblong, white to pale pinkish purple, darker at tip, ca 1 cm long; apex acute; lateral petals free, similar to sepals; labellum elliptic, ca as long as lateral petals, white with purple on fimbriate margins; 3 keels with glandular hairs down toward mouth; operculum white.

 

Distribution: India (Sikkim), S China (Yunnan), Myanmar and N Thailand, recorded from Doi Hua Mot, Tak province, locally common in open limestone hills, 900–1,000 m.
