Description: Small herb, ca 5 cm tall, stem very short. Leaves rounded to cordate, 1–3 cm long; apex obtuse; base cordate or subpeltate; blade rather thick, shiny green above, pale green below; margin crenate-serrate; nerves 5, originated from base; petioles 0.5–3 cm long, reddish brown. Inflorescences terminal, cyme, few flowers; peduncle 4–7 cm long; bracts stipule like, persistent. Flowers monoecious, pinkish purple; pedicels 0.3–0.6 cm. long. Male flowers: tepal 4; 2 outer ones elliptic-rounded, 3–5 mm long; 2 inner ones obovate-oblong, emaginate at apex, ca as long as the outer ones; stamens ca 1 mm; filaments connate at base forming in a column, subsessile; anthers yellow, triangular, apex truncate. Female flower: petal 5–7, outer 3, inner 2, similar to male flower; receptacle 3 winged, ca 0.6 cm include wings; ovary inferior, 2 locular; style 2; stigma crescent shaped, papillae. Fruit capsule, 3 winged, ca 1 cm long include wings; seeds small, numerous.

 

Distribution: Laos, Cambodia and eastern Thailand, recorded from Ubon Ratchathani and Si Sa Ket, locally common on moist rocks by or in streams, dry evergreen forest, 200–300 m.
