Description: Tendrilled climber up to 14 m; branches glabrous. Leaves obovate, 3–8 cm long; bifid to 1/3–1/2, lobes rounded; base cordate; glabrous; petioles 1.5–2 cm long. Inflorescences terminal, 1–3, racemose, pyramid form, to 15 cm long, shortly brownish puberulous; flowers dense, pedicels to 1.5 cm long. Bracts lanceolate, 0.8–1.2 cm; bracteoles linear, ca 0.7 cm long, inserted above the middle of the pedicel. Buds oblong-obovate, ca 1 cm long, slightly falcate, apex with 5 short free tips. Receptacle tubular, 0.3–0.6 cm long. Sepals 5, linear, 1–1.5 cm long. Petals 5, greenish-white; posterior one deltoid, 0.5–0.7 cm; lateral ones linear, hairy inside, 0.6–1 cm long include claws. Stamens 3 fertile; filaments 2–3 cm long; anthers oblong, 0.2–0.3 cm long; staminodes 2, filiform, 0.2–0.3 cm long. Ovary tubular, silky hairy, 0.5–0.6 cm long; stipe 0.7–0.8 cm long; style glabrous, 1–1.2 cm long; stigma capitate. Pods dehiscent, flat, oblong, ca 10 cm long, narrowed towards base (imature).

 

 

Distribution: Laos, Cambodia and eastern Thailand, recorded from Surin (Samg Kha) and Si Sa Ket (Khao Phra Viharn), scattered in dry evergreen forest, 200–300 m.
