Description: Perennial herb, to ca 1 m tall. Stem elongate, slightly woody. Basal leaves, sessile, lanceolate, gradually narrowed towards the apex, 6–11 cm long, numerous, scabrous hispid on upper surfaces, silky hairy on the lower surfaces; dead leaves persistent, forming a brush like. Stem leaves, lanceolate, 3–7 cm long. Inflorescences teminal, panicle,10–30 cm long, several cymes, 3–5 cm long in each cyme. Flowers white to pale brown; calyx 5, lobes 0.8–1 cm long; corolla subcylindic ca 1–1.3 cm long, throat becoming 0.5–0.7 cm wide, shallowly 5-lobed, strigose outside on upper part, villose in a short band insides above the base; nectary minute, lobed, villose. Stamens 5, inserter on corolla tube; filaments slender, hairy toward base, 0.5–0.8 cm; anthers united into a tube, exersted. Ovary 4-lobed, ovules 4; style glabrous, 1–1.7 cm long. Nutlets 4, ca 3–3.5 mm long, brown, verrucose.

 

Distribution: Myanmar and Southwestern Thailand, recorded from Doi Hua Mot, Tak, common in open limestone, 900–1,000 m.
