Description: Large climbing up to 15 m high. Leaves scattered or congested, distichous; petiole 0.5–1.5 cm long, broadly winged; lamina ovate to elliptic or lanceolate with 2–4 intramarginal veins, 1.5–2 cm long, Flowering shoots bearing a minute prophyl and a few cataphylls. Inflorescence solitary; peduncle 4.–1 cm long, rather stout, erect, dull orange-yellow. Spathe ovate, flat to convex, 0.4–1.2 x 0.4–1 cm, base cordate, clasping the peduncle, apex acute with a stout mucro, white, somewhat waxy. Spadix stipitate; stipe yellow to pale brown, 2.7–4 cm long; fertile portion ovoid, yellow, 1.2–1.5 cm long. Stamens 4. Ovary compressed angular-ellipsoid. Infructescence with 1–5 berries. Fruits ovoid or ellipsoid, 1–1.7 cm long.

 

Distribution: Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Peninsular Thailand, only recorded from Thanto, Yala provinces, in lowland evergreen forest.
