Description: Herb, rhizomatous, stemless. Indumentum hispid, sparsely on leaves, densely on nerves beneath, petioles and pedicels. Leaves subrotund, ca 2–5 cm; base deeply cordate; margin irregular dentate; blade slightly fleshy; nerves ca 9, originated from base; petioles 2.5–8 cm long. Inflorescences cymose panicle, 2–5 flowers on each; peduncle up to 20 cm long. Flowers monoecious, whitish to pink; pedicels 1–2.5 cm; bracts ca 0.5 cm long, margin fimbriate. Male flowers: 2 outer tepals obovate, apex rounded, ca 1–1.5 cm long; 2 inner ones linear-oblanceolate, 0.7–1.2 cm long. Stamens numerous, filaments connate at base forming in a column ca 1 mm long, free part ca 1 mm long; anthers with truncate connectives, ca 0.75 mm. Female flowers similar to male ones, born on a winged-receptacle, wing 2–3 mm wide. Style 3 connate at base, 1–2 mm long; stigmas crescent-shaped, twisted. Fruit a capsule, 0.5 x 0.6 cm; lateral wings up to 0.6 cm, wide. Seeds small, numerous.

 

 

Distribution: Endemic to N Thailand, recorded from Doi Hua Mot, Tak, locally common in open limestone, 900–1,000 m.
