Description: Evergreen tree, 5–20 m tall. Leaves 3-pinnate, 40–70 cm long; leaflets oblong to lanceolate, 5–7 x 1.5–3 cm; apex caudate; base acute. Inflorescences paniculate thyrsoid, terminal; bracts linear. Flowers more crowded near the end of thyrse; pedicels 2–5 cm long. Calyx campanulate, rather thick with irregularly 3–5-lobed. Corolla funnel-shaped, creamy white with pale orangish stripes inside, 3.5–4.5 cm long; limb bilabiate; lobes 3, rounded, slightly shorter than the tube. Stamens 4, subequal, glabrous; filaments ca 3 cm long; staminode 1. Disc annular. Ovary terete; stigma 2-lobed. Fruits capsule, linear, twisted, luculicidally dehiscent, 50–65 cm long. Seeds many, flat with lateral thin wing, ca 12 x 2 mm. | | | |
Distribution: Peninsular Malaysia and Peninsular Thailand. It is confined fresh water swamp forest, on limestone, in Krabi, Phangna and Surat Thani. In Peninsular Malaysia found at ca 1,200 m (Pahang).
