Description: Aerial stem-parasitic shrub with quadrangular internodes, most parts glabrous. Leaves opposite, ovate to cordate-orbicular, 7–19 x 5–13 cm; apex rounded; base truncate to cordate; petiole 1–3 mm. Inflorescences racemose or spike with 1–5 opposite pairs of flowers; bracts 3, central bract orbicular 2–2.5 mm, lateral bracts 2–2.5 mm long. Calyx a membranous limb at the apex of the ovary. Corolla 6, 7–15 cm long, winged at about 4/5 the length, clavate, red or yellow, often yellow at the neck and red or green above; tube 5–11 cm long, lobes reflexed or twisted, 0.5–1 cm higher. Stamens 6; anther about equal to the free part of filament, 3–8 mm long, obtuse. Ovary inferior, style simple, stigma knob-like. Fruits berry-like, ellipsoid to nearly globose.

Distribution: Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, SE and Peninsular Thailand, evergreen forest and also found in rubber plantation, to ca 300 m. Hosts: Eugenia operculata, Microcos tomentosa, Hevea brasiliensis and Parkia spp.
