Description: Woody epiphyte with erect to scandent stems. Leaves in whorls of 3 to 5; petiole short; blade fleshy, glabrous, elliptic to narrowly so, apex acute to acuminate, base acute to cuneate, margin usually crenulate, 7.7 to 14.5 x 1.1 to 4.6 cm; midrib impressed above, prominent beneath, other venation obscure. Inflorescences subterminal, erect, 2- to many-flowered; pedicels to 12 mm long. Calyx pale green, lobes linear, dissected to base, 7 to 19 mm long. Corolla tubular, arcuate, 7.5 to 10 cm long; tube straight for lower half and then flaring gradually towards throat, lobes rounded, to 10 mm long, minutely glandular pubescent outside; pale green to greenish-orange at base of tube, turning bright red towards apex of tube and lobes with a darker red line on inside of lobes. Stamens 4, exserted, filaments red, minutely glandular pubescent. Style stout, pale red to pale yellow, minutely glandular pubescent. |
Distribution: Uncommon in Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Peninsular Thailand, recorded in Trang, Pattani and Narathiwat, to 1,200 m.
