Description: Climbing herb, 1–5 m tall, finely glandular-hairy; dioecious. Leaves shallowly 3–5 lobed, ovate or elliptic-oblong, 2–13 cm in diam.; nerves 3–5 pairs; petiole 0.5–3 cm long. Male inflorescences: narrowly paniculate, 5–15 cm long, peduncle short; bracts linear, 1–3 mm long, caducous. Male flower: usually solitary; pedicel 0.5–1.2 cm long; buds at apex 5-toothed; corolla rounded, 6–8 mm diam.; receptacle shallow, ca 1.5 mm diam.; sepals narrowly triangular, 1.5–2 m long; petals ovate-oblong, 2.5–4 x 2.5 mm, with midvein at base raised adaxially. Filaments free, recurved, 0.5–0.7 mm long; anthers 0.5 mm long. Female inflorescences: 1- or few-flowered; pedicel 3–7 mm long, faintly articulate, puberulous; ovary 4–5 x 0.6 mm, stigma 0.5 mm long. Capsules solitary, 2.5–3 x 0.5–1 cm, glabrous with truncate apex. Seeds 15–20, light brown to black, ellipsoid, 4–5 by 2.5–3.5 mm, wing nearly all around seed but much extending to one side, ca 8 x 4–5 mm. |
Distribution: Endemic to Thailandม widely scattered in Northern, Eastern (Nakhon Ratchasima), South–Western, Central, and Peninsular (Surat Thani), scrub and open limestone, to 600 m.
