Convallariaceae (Liliflorae)

Description: Scrambling herb, stem glabrous, glaucous, 1–2(–5) m long. Leaves linear-lanceolate, in whorls of 3–8, with tendril at apex. Flowers axillary, in group of 1–4, reddish; bracts minute, whitish, lanceolate, persistent; perianth cycindrical-campanulate, 1.5–2.5 cm, lobes minute; stamens inserted in upper 3/4 of tube. Fruits globose, greenish, shallowly 3–4 lobed, 2 seeds in each locule; seeds subglobose.

 

Distribution: Widely distributed, but scattered from China to Myanmar and N Thailand. In Thailand recorded from Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai in open disturbed and burned areas, sandstone and limestone.
