Description : Shrub 30–60 cm tall, densely hairy with bulbous-based hairs. Leaves 3-digitate, spiral; petioles triangular, 4–5 cm long, densely hairy; stipules lanceolate, 5–6 by 1–1.5 mm, margin hairy, outside silky, inside glabrous. Leaflets: petiolules 1–2 mm long, densely hairy; blade coriaceous, obovate, lanceolate in upper part of twigs, 4–7 by 2–3 cm, apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate, oblique in lateral leaflets, margin entire, upper surface densely hairy with bulbous-based hairs, lower surface densely hairy with bulbous-based hairs and glands; lateral veins 5–7 pairs; stipels absent. Capitula axillary, (1–)3–5 cm long, densely hairy. Flowers creamy-white; bract ovate, 3–4 by 2–2.5 mm, apex acute, margin villous, both sides densely hairy, forming an involucre; pedicels 2–2.5 mm long. Calyx: tube 1.5–2 mm long; upper lobes 3–4 by ca 1 mm; longest lower lobe 4.5–5 by ca 1 mm, apex acuminate, margin villous, outside densely hairy and glandular, inside glabrous. Corolla creamy-white, included the calyx; standard 6–7 by 3–3.5, with basal callosities, apex emarginate, base auriculate, margin entire, both sides glabrous, claw ca 2.5 mm; wings oblong, 6–7 by ca 1.5 mm, apex obtuse, base oblique, outside hairy at base, inside glabrous, claw ca 2.5 mm; keel falcate, 6–7 by 2–2.5 mm, apex obtuse, glabrous on both sides. Stamens: tube 4–5 mm long, glabrous; filaments 1–1.5 mm long, anthers ca 0.5 mm long. Ovary densely hairy and glandular all over, 1–2-ovuled; style 4–5 mm long. Pods elliptic to oblong, 8–10 by 5–6 mm, hairy and glandular. Seeds subglobose, ca 2 by 1 mm, glabrous.

Distribution : India (type), Bangladesh, Myanmar, China (Yunnan), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia.
Ecology : Open grassy areas on loamy soil and limestone mountains.
Vernacular : Sa kae saeng (สะแกแสง).
