Description : Shrub ca 1 m tall; young twigs densely tomentose. Leaves 3-digitate; petioles 2–3 cm long, densely tomentose, grooved above; stipules lanceolate, 15–20 by ca 2 mm, outside densely hairy, inside glabrous, striate. Leaflets: petiolules 1–2 mm long, densely tomentose; blade lanceolate or elliptic, 5–8 by 2–2.5 cm, apex acute to acuminate, base cuneate or oblique, margin entire, upper surface glabrous, lower surface with sessile glands, glabrous, except for veins; lateral veins 8–10 pairs; stipels absent. Racemes axillary, up to 4 cm long, densely tomentose, 25–30 flowers per inflorescence with dense flowers. Flowers greenish to white; bracts ovate to lanceolate, 5–10 by ca 2 mm, apex acute to acuminate with mucro, margin densely tomentose, outside densely tomentose, inside glabrous, not forming an involucre, lower most of bracts early caducous, 1–2 times longer than wide; pedicels 1–2 mm long, densely tomentose. Calyx: tube ca 1 mm long; upper lobes 5–7 by ca 1 mm; longest lower lobe 7–10 by ca 1.5 mm, apex acuminate, margin densely hairy, outside densely hairy and glandular, inside glabrous. Corolla white; standard obovate, ca 5 by 3 mm, apex rounded, minutely apiculate, base auriculate without basal callosities, margin entire, greenish, both sides densely hairy, claw ca 1 mm long; wings oblong, 3–4 by ca 1 mm; claw 2–3 mm long, base auriculate with ca 1 mm long, apex rounded, margin entire, both sides densely hairy, white; keel 3.5–4 by 1.5–2 mm, apex rounded, base inauriculate, margin entire, both sides densely hairy on both sides, greenish, claw 2–3 mm long. Stamens: tube 4–5 mm long, glabrous; filaments 1.5–2 mm long; anthers oblong, ca 0.1 mm long. Ovary densely hairy, ca 1 mm long; style 4–5 mm long, sparsely hairy. Pods elliptic to oblong, 8–10 by 4–5 mm, densely hairy, glandular. Seeds globose, ca 2 mm in diameter.


Thailand : NORTHERN: ChiangMai (Hot, Mae Chaem); NORTH-EASTERN: Phetchabun (Nam Nao NP), Loei (Phu Kradueng – type of Flemingia kradungensis: Charoenphol et al. 4620, holotype -BKF, isotype -AAU); EASTERN: Chaiyaphum (Phu Khiao WS).


Distribution : China.


Ecology : Open mixed deciduous forest with pine trees; ca 900 m alt.


Vernacular : Ka sam pik phu kra dueng (กาสามปีกภูกระดึง).
