Description : Shrub 30–60 cm tall; young twigs with villous hairs. Leaves 1-foliolate; petioles triangular, 5–6 mm long, densely villous; stipules lanceolate, 10–14 by 1–1.5 mm, margin hairy, caducous. Leaflets: petiolules up to 10 mm long, densely villous; blade chartaceous, lanceolate, 7–10 by 1.5–8 cm, apex acuminate, mucronate, base cuneate, margin villous, upper surface villous, glabrescent, lower surface densely villous and glandular; lateral veins 5–7 pairs; stipels absent. Racemes axillary and terminal, 3–10 cm long, axis unbranched, densely villous; pedicels 1–2 mm long; bract ovate, 10–12 by 15–17 mm, leafy, apex emarginate, base cuneate, margin villous, densely villous on both sides and glandular, enclosing flowers. Calyx: tube 1.5–2 mm long; upper lobes 2–2.5 by 1–1.5 mm; lower longest one 3–4 by 1–1.5 mm; lobes apex acuminate, margin villous, outside densely hairy and glandular, inside glabrous. Corolla creamy white; standard orbicular, 6–7 by 7–8 mm, apex emarginate, base auriculate with basal callosities, margin entire, both sides glabrous, claw ca 2 mm; wings oblong, 5–6 by ca 2 mm, apex obtuse, both sides glabrous, base auriculate, claw ca 2 mm long; keel falcate, 6–7 by 2.5–3 mm, apex obtuse, both sides glabrous, claw ca 2 mm long. Stamens: tube 3–4 mm long, glabrous; filaments ca 2 mm long; anthers ca 0.5 mm long. Ovary densely villous and glandular all over; style ca 4 mm long. Pods elliptic to oblong,18–20 by 5–6 mm, hairy and glandular. Seeds subglobose, ca 3 by 2 mm, glabrous.


Thailand : NORTH-EASTERN: Phetchabun (Nam Nao NP), Loei (Pak Chom), Nong Khai (Sangkhom), Bueng Kan; EASTERN: Chaiyaphum (Phu Khiao WS), Amnat Charoen (Chanuman).


Distribution : India, Bangladesh (type), Myanmar, China, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines.


Ecology : Mostly along streams; 300–500 m alt. Flowering: October–November; fruiting: December–January.


Vernacular : Klet pla kang (เกล็ดปลากั้ง).
