Description : Tree to 12 m tall. Young branches glabrous to very sparsely hairy. Leaves papyraceous to subcoriaceous, (oblong-)obovate(-elliptic), 32–48 by 7–15.5 cm, matt above, glabrous to very sparsely hairy below, (sub)glabrous above, secondary veins 24–35 pairs, variably prominent to impressed above; tertiary venation percurrent, (clearly) distinct; petioles 10–18(–35) mm long. Flowers solitary (rarely paired), on trunk or older branches, pedicels 9.5–16 mm long. Sepals 12–16 by 5–13 mm, not reflexed, venation generally distinct. Outer petals yellow or pink, 24–30(–53) by 9–18 mm, (sparsely) hairy ab- and adaxially with glabrous or (sparsely) hairy basal region facing apertures between inner petals, venation indistinct. Inner petals 12.5–16.5 by 7–8.5 mm, hairy abaxially, velutinous adaxially, colour unknown. Stamens 165–200, anther connective apex long-apiculate. Carpels 16–21, ovaries very sparsely to densely hairy; stigmas funnel-shaped, (sparsely) hairy. Fruits without persistent sepals, pedicels ca 15 mm long. Monocarps ellipsoid, 3.1–4.4 by 1.5–1.8 cm, smooth, glabrous to very sparsely hairy, colour unknown, stipe 12.5–17.5 mm long. Seeds 4–5, 11–13.5 by 13–15.5 mm, slightly rugose, sparsely hairy.
Thailand : PENINSULAR: Narathiwat.
Distribution : Peninsular Malaysia (type).
Ecology : Lowland forests, 100–450 m alt. Flowering and fruiting throughout the year.
Vernacular : Panan sen bai (ปาหนันเส้นใบ)(Narathiwat).
Notes: Goniothalamus uvarioides does not appear to be closely related to any other species in the Thai flora.
