Description : Pseudobulbs globose-discoid, 6–8 mm across, covered by distinctly reticulate-veined sheaths, not fully developed until flowering has ceased. Leaves 2, obovate to obovate-oblong, rounded to subacute, apiculate, 1.5–3.5 by 0.8–1.8 cm, margin sparsely ciliate. Inflorescence appearing before the leaves, short, 1- or 2-flowered; peduncle up to 4 mm long; floral bracts up to 2 mm long, not much longer than pedicel and ovary. Flowers suberect, red, curved. Dorsal sepal ovate, acute to shortly acuminate, 5.5–12 mm long, connate with the lateral sepals for up to 1/2 of its length, 3.5–7.5 by 5.3–6 mm, sparsely hispid on the outside, usually with scattered transparent dots. Lateral sepals 6.7–9 mm long, connate for 1/2–2/3 of their length; lobes usually divergent, each lobe narrowly triangular, acuminate, 3.7–4.5 by 2.1–2.3 mm, gibbous at base. Petals falcately oblong, 9–10 by 1.8–2 mm, entire to erose. Labellum recurved, suboblong-lanceolate, cuspidate, 2–3 by 0.7–1 mm (1.8–1.9 mm wide when expanded), distal margin shortly fimbriate; base narrow with a callus. Column stout, 1–1.5 mm long; foot 1.2–2 mm long; anther 0.6–0.9 by 0.5–0.8 mm. Ovary (including pedicel) 1.3–1.5 mm, hispid. Capsule broadly obovoid, ca 3 by 3.5 mm; fruit pedicel 4–5 mm long.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nan, Tak; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi; CENTRAL: Nakhon Nayok; SOUTH-EASTERN: Trat.


Distribution : Myanmar (type), China (Yunnan), Laos, Vietnam.


Ecology : Growing as an epiphyte in hill evergreen forests and freshwater swamp forests, 400–1,200 m alt. Flowering: May–August.


Vernacular : Ueang ta khai lek (เอื้องตาข่ายเล็ก)(Chiang Mai).
