Description : Stems pseudobulbous, (ellipsoid-)fusiform to cylindrical, 3.7–9.1(–15) cm long, 0.7–1.7 cm in diameter. Leaves 3–4, subsessile, lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, acute to acuminate, 6.1–18.4(–31.5) by 1.5–4.1 cm. Inflorescences arising from almost fully developed leafy pseudobulbs, dense, 1.7–3.6(–6) cm long; peduncle 0.1–0.9 cm long, bearing 1 scale leaf at base; rachis pubescent with stellate and simple hairs; bracts spreading to suberect, 4–8.5 mm long. Flowers many, mainly white to cream with yellow labellum mid-lobe. Sepals obtuse to subacute, sparsely pubescent with stellate hairs on the dorsal side (rarely glabrous); dorsal sepal (broadly) elliptic to ovate, 2.9–5.5 by 2.3–3 mm; lateral sepals obliquely to falcately ovate, 2.7–5.1 by 1.9–3.2 mm. Petals spreading, obliquely elliptic to lanceolate, subacute to obtuse, 2.7–4.9 by 1.4–1.9 mm. Labellum flush with column foot, firmly attached (angle obtuse to right), clawed, lamina more or less cuneate at base, obscurely to distinctly 3-lobed in its middle to distal part, 1.7–3.2 mm long, 1.9–3.3 mm wide across side lobes when flattened, ca 0.9 times as long as wide, shorter than dorsal sepal; side lobes rounded to subtruncate, 0.2–1.1 mm (along front edge), not connate, describing obtuse to slightly acute angles to mid-lobe when flattened; mid-lobe porrect (to weakly recurved), subquadrate to reniform, rounded to obtuse, often apiculate, 0.8–1.2 by 1.1–1.7 mm, wider than long; labellum devoid of ornaments. Column foot channelled. Ovary 1.2–4.5 mm long, shorter than dorsal sepal, pubescent with stellate and simple hairs.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai (Doi Pae Po Mak – type: Seidenfaden & Smitinand GT 7317, holotype -C), Chiang Rai (Doi Tung); NORTH-EASTERN: Loei; EASTERN: Nakhon Ratchasima (Khao Yai), Ubon Ratchathani; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi; SOUTH-EASTERN: Chon Buri (between Khao Phra Bat and Noen Phra Metta), Chanthaburi (Phlio Falls).


Distribution : N & NE India, Myanmar, Indochina.


Ecology : Growing as an epiphyte or lithophyte in upper mixed deciduous forests and hill evergreen forests, 300–1,400 m alt. Flowering: July–September.
