Description : Stems 3.5–6.8 cm long (to base of the free part of the inflorescence). Leaves articulate, bilaterally flattened, in lateral view obliquely to subfalcately (linear-)lanceolate, widest in the proximal part, acute; longest leaf 18–20 by 2–2.2 cm. Inflorescence lax to dense; free part of peduncle ca 2.8 cm long, bearing several bract-like scales; rachis 32–41 cm long, non-succulent, smooth (i.e., not pitted); floral bracts acuminate, glabrous, ca 3 mm long. Flowers of unrecorded colour, pedicelled, 1.8–2 mm wide. Sepals: dorsal sepal more or less spreading, elliptic-ovate to ovate, obtuse, ca 1 by 0.7 mm, entire; lateral sepals more or less spreading to slightly reflexed. Petals more or less widely spreading, ovate-oblong to oblong, obtuse, ca 1 by 0.6 mm, entire. Labellum from the base perpendicular to the column, slightly convex in the middle, 3-lobed, 1.3–1.5 mm wide across the side lobes, glabrous, without ornaments; side lobes spreading, obliquely subovate to suborbicular, entire to slightly and irregularly crenate; mid-lobe bilobulate (sinus 0.4–0.6 mm deep), 0.8–1 by 1–1.2 mm, entire; lobules obtuse to rounded. Column obovoid, front margins not developed into wings; rostellum acute. Ovary describing a more or less right angle to the rachis (when the flower is fully open and still fresh), glabrous.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai.
Distribution : Nepal, N & NE India (type), the eastern Himalayas, S China, Myanmar, Vietnam.
Ecology : Epiphytic in lower montane rain forests, ca 1,400 m alt. Flowering: recorded in November and April.
Vernacular : Ueang phaen bai mit (เอื้องแพนใบมีด).
