Description : Stems 1.4–2.6 cm long (to base of the free part of the inflorescence). Leaves not articulate, bilaterally flattened, in lateral view obliquely lanceolate to elliptic-oblong, widest in the middle part, subacute to obtuse; longest leaf 3.5–5 by 0.8–1.3 cm. Inflorescence dense (flowers touching each other within whorls); free part of peduncle 0.3–0.7 cm long, bearing several bract-like scales; rachis 3.7–4.7 cm long, non-succulent, smooth (i.e., not pitted); floral bracts acuminate, papillose on the abaxial surface, 1.4–1.7 mm long. Flowers mainly orange to pale yellowish, pedicelled, ca 1.2 mm wide. Sepals: dorsal sepal spreading, ovate, obtuse, ca 0.7 by ca 0.5 mm, entire; lateral sepals more or less reflexed. Petals spreading, oblong, obtuse, ca 0.9 by ca 0.5 mm, erose. Labellum from the base perpendicular to the column or slightly reflexed, convex in the middle when young (flattening with age), 3-lobed, ca 0.6 mm wide across the side lobes, glabrous, without ornaments; side lobes spreading, obliquely oblong to subflabellate, erose; mid-lobe retuse to truncate, ca 0.4 by ca 0.6 mm, erose; lobules (if any) obtuse to rounded. Column subterete, front margins not developed into wings; rostellum acute. Ovary describing a more or less right angle to the rachis (when the flower is fully open and still fresh), glabrous.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Mae Hong Son (Khun Yuam), Chiang Mai; SOUTH-WESTERN: Kanchanaburi (Thong Pha Phum), Prachuap Khiri Khan (Dan Sing Khon); SOUTH-EASTERN: Chon Buri: (Si Racha); PENINSULAR: Phangnga (Si Phangnga).
Distribution : Nepal, Bhutan, NE India, Myanmar (syntypes), Peninsular Malaysia.
Ecology : Epiphytic on bamboo in seasonal rain forests and tropical evergreen rain forests, 600–700 m alt. Flowering: September–December.
Vernacular : Ueang phaen cho san (เอื้องแพนช่อสั้น).
