Description : Epiphytic or epilithic plant with pseudobulbs well-spaced on a somewhat elongated rhizome. Pseudobulbs erect, terete from a fusiform base, 9–17 cm long, 1–1.5 cm in maximum diameter. Foliage leaves 2 per pseudobulb, articulate, conduplicate, subsessile, lanceolate to oblanceolate-linear, acuminate, 9.7–17 by 1.2–1.9 cm, coriaceous, obscurely veined (mid-vein recognizable). Inflorescence nodding, 10–28 cm long, dense, many-flowered; peduncle slender, terete; floral bracts subterete, lanceolate, 3.4–4.5 mm long. Flowers mainly orange-green to yellowish orange, resupinate. Sepals recurved; dorsal sepal lanceolate-oblong, acute, 2.6–3.3 by 0.9–1 mm, 3-veined; lateral sepals not twisted, obliquely oblong-elliptic, acute, 2.3–3.3 by 1–1.5 mm, 3-veined. Petals linear-oblong, obtuse, 2.3–3.2 by 0.3–0.5 mm, 1-veined, with revolute margins. Labellum uniformly yellowish orange to orange; suberect, strongly recurved for its entire length; oblong, retuse to apically bilobed, 2.3–3 by 1.2–1.5 mm, bearing a pair of low, subbasal, obscure, papillose calli; side veins of the outermost longitudinal veins not reaching the labellum margin; margin erose, ciliate (glabrous towards the base of labellum). Column greenish to yellowish white, 1.7–2 mm long, slender, incurved, front margins distally developed into rounded keels; anther yellowish green, broadly ovate in upper view, acute in front. Ovary (including pedicel) yellowish green, with 6 obscure longitudinal ridges, 3.8–9 mm long.


Thailand : PENINSULAR: Yala (Betong).


Distribution : Myanmar, Taiwan and throughout the Malesian archipelago (type from Java) from where it extends to Queensland and the SW Pacific Islands.


Ecology : Tropical evergreen rain forests where it grows on large trunks and branches, and on limestone outcrops, 400–450 m alt. Flowering: October–December.


Vernacular : Ueang klip muan hua klom (เอื้องกลีบม้วนหัวกลม).
