Description : Pseudobulbs tufted, cylindrical, 5–18 by 0.3–0.5 cm; base covered by sheaths 2–5.5 cm long. Leaves 2, conduplicate, subterminal; lamina elliptic-oblong to oblanceolate-oblong, acute or obtuse, 5–18 by 1.5–4 cm. Inflorescence subterminal, 10–30 cm long, glabrous; floral bracts lanceolate or narrowly lanceolate, 5–8 mm long. Flowers mainly white; labellum mid-lobe flushed with yellow, side lobes striped with reddish purple. Sepals glabrous; dorsal sepal elliptic oblanceolate, obtuse, 17–21 by 5–7 mm; lateral sepals lanceolate, falcate, obtuse, 17–22 by 7–8 mm, mentum 7–8 mm long. Petals oblanceolate-oblong, obtuse, 17–20 by 5–6 mm, glabrous. Labellum 3-lobed, oblong in outline, 14–15 by 11–12 mm; side lobes suborbicular to suboblong, ca 8 by 5 mm, sinus between side lobe and mid-lobe ca 3 mm; mid-lobe oblong, acute, ca 5 by 4 mm; disc ornamented by 3 entire or undulate lamellae on the disc and 5–7 crenate or undulate lamellae on the basal to central part of the mid-lobe. Column ca 5 mm long. Ovary (including pedicel) 5–6 mm long, glabrous. Capsule not seen.

Distribution : Nepal, India (type), Bhutan, Myanmar, China, Vietnam.
Ecology : Growing as an epiphyte in hill evergreen forests, 700–1,750 m alt. Flowering: January–April.
