Description : Ascending to suberect or erect herbs 10–13 cm tall; stems, unbranched, densely hairy on 1 or 2 opposite sides or throughout with multicellular, appressed, curved, white or rusty hairs 0.2–0.3 mm long. Stipules minute, deltoid 0.5–1 mm long, coriaceous, glabrous, caducous. Leaves equal or unequal, ovate, 4–5 by 2–3 cm, base broadly cuneate or rounded, apex obtuse, margin hairy, scatteredly hairy with multicellular, straight, appressed, white hairs 0.1–0.2 mm long above, dry pale green, or whitish, dense hairy along veins with multicellular, curved, appressed, white or rusty hairs 0.1–0.2 mm long beneath, lateral veins 4–6 pairs, veins beneath darker than blade; petiole 0.4–1.5 cm long. Inflorescences terminal helicoid cymes with underdeveloped central axis, very compact in flower, elongated in fruit, at anthesis upright; flowers 15–20 per inflorescence; peduncle at anthesis 2–2.5 cm long, densely hairy on 1 or 2 opposite sides with curved or straight, white hairs 0.2 mm long; inflorescence branches without secondary branchlets, to 3.5–4.5 mm long, densely hairy on 1 or 2 opposite sides with hairs decreasingly shorter than those of peduncle, ca 0.1 mm long; bracts & bracteoles much shorter than ovaries, inconspicious, minute, appressed to branches, 0.3–0.5 mm long, glabrous; flower bud apex rounded, or angular, slightly ribbed. Flowers heterostylous; pedicels shorter, equal or longer than ovary, 0.5–0.7 mm long. Brevistylous flowers only known; calyx lobes deltoid, length (sub)equal to width, or lanceolate, ca 0.5 mm long; corolla cylindric to narrow infundibular, white, outside glabrous; tube ca 4 mm long, slightly inflated at base, inside hairy, with loose ring of hairs ca 0.2 mm long and scattered hairs or scales above hair ring; lobes ca 1.5 mm long, shorter than tube, inner surface scaly; stamens attached at tube middle, inside hair ring; filament ca 0.5 mm long; anthers included above tube middle or half exserted, ca 1 mm long; ovary pubescent as pedicel to minutely scaly; style included below anthers. Capsules laterally flattened.
