Accepted Name : Abrus melanospermus subsp. melanospermus
Description : Perennial climber; young stems with appressed hairs or glabrescent. Stipules narrowly deltate or linear, 3 by 1 mm, caducous. Leaves with petiole; leaflets 14–34, (7–17-jugate), lamina oblong or obovate, 2–5 by 2 cm, margin entire. Inflorescences hairy or glabrous; bracts lanceolate to deltoid, 1–3 by 1 mm; bracteoles ovate or suborbicular, ca 1 mm in diam. Flowers 8–10 mm long. Calyx 2–3 mm long, apex subtruncate, moderately with minute, appressed hairs. Corolla white to pinkish; standard without stipe; wings with stipe; keel with stipe. Pods compressed, puberulent, 5–7 by 1 cm, apex with beak, 5–10-seeded. Seeds compressed, oblong, ca 5 mm in diam., 1.5–2 mm thick, greyish brown.
