Description : Shrub 1–4 m tall; twigs with weakly asymmetric and asymmetric T-shaped hairs. Stipules linear, 7–10 mm long. Leaves imparipinnate, alternate; petioles 0.5–1.5 mm long, densely hairy; rachis 6–11 long. Leaflets 23–35, opposite or subopposite; lamina elliptic or narrowly ovate, 10–20 by 6–10 mm, apex apiculate with mucro ca 1 mm long or shortly emarginate, base obtuse or cuneate, margin entire, both surfaces with weakly asymmetric and scattered asymmetric T-shaped hairs; lateral veins 15–17 pairs. Racemes 15–30 cm long; bracts linear, 3–5 mm long; pedicels 4–5 mm long, hairy. Calyx tube 1.5–2 mm long; lobes triangular, ca 1 by 1 mm, apex acute, margin ciliate, hairy outside, glabrous inside. Corolla dark pink to reddish; standard obovate or elliptic, 9–10.5 by 5–6.5 mm, apex acute, base obtuse, margin entire, hairy on the back, glabrous inside; wings oblong, 8.5–9.5 by 1.5–2.5 mm, apex obtuse or acute, base truncate, margin entire, hairy at base, glabrous inside; keel 8–9.5 by 1.5–2 mm, apex acute, margin ciliate, hairy outside, glabrous inside; lateral pocket ca 1 mm long. Staminal tube 6–7 mm long; filaments 1–1.5 mm long; anthers ca 1 by 0.5 mm, with apiculate connective. Ovary glabrous, 6–9-ovuled; style 3–4 mm long. Pods cylindric, 2.5–4 cm long, straight, glabrous, dehiscent. Seeds cylindric, 2.5–3 mm long, truncate at both ends, glabrous.


Thailand : NORTHERN: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai (Ban Pha Mon – type of Indigofera kasinii: Vidal 5268 -P), Chiang Rai, Lampang (Khun Tan).


Distribution : India, Myanmar (type).


Ecology : Bamboo and hill evergreen forests, 600–1,300 m alt. Flowering: August–October.


Vernacular : Khram khao (ครามเขา), khram kasin (ครามกสิน)(Chiang Mai); ta-klu-mi (ตะกลุมิ)(Karen-Chiang Mai).
