Description : Shrub ca 1 m tall; twigs with very dense dark-coloured asymmetric T-shaped hairs. Stipules lanceolate, 10–17 by 0.5 mm, apex acuminate, margin villous, densely hairy outside, glabrous inside. Leaves imparipinnate, spiral; petioles 1–2 cm long; rachis 2–8 cm long, densely hairy. Leaflets 5–9, opposite; petiolules 2–3 mm long, densely hairy; stipels lanceolate, 1–3 mm long; lamina elliptic or obovate, 2–5 by 1–2 cm, apex rounded or obtuse, with apiculate ca 0.5 mm long, base cuneate, margin villous, both surfaces with asymmetric T-shaped hairs; lateral veins 6–8 pairs. Racemes 10–25 cm long, densely hairy; bracts lanceolate or narrowly triangular, 3.5–4 mm long, apex acuminate, margin villous, densely hairy outside, glabrous inside; pedicels 1.5–2 mm long, with asymmetric T-shaped hairs. Calyx tube ca 0.5 mm long; lobes lanceolate, 2.5–3 mm long, apex acuminate, margin villous, densely hairy outside, glabrous inside. Corolla pink; standard orbicular, 4 by 2.5–3 mm, apex obtuse, base cuneate, margin villous, densely hairy outside, glabrous inside; wings ca 4.5 by 1 mm, apex obtuse, margin ciliate, densely hairy outside at the lower part, glabrous inside, claw ca 0.5 mm long; keel ca 5 by 1.5 mm, apex rounded, base attenuate, margin ciliate, glabrescent outside, glabrous inside; lateral pocket ca 1 mm long, Staminal tube ca 4 mm long; filaments 0.5–1 mm long; anthers 0.3–0.4 mm long, with an apiculate connective. Ovary hairy, 5–8-ovuled. Pods cylindric, 14–20 mm long, straight, rounded in cross-section, densely hairy, dehiscent. Seeds cubic-shaped or cylindric, 1.5–2 by 1 mm, truncate at both ends, smooth.


Thailand : Widely distributed throughout the country.


Distribution : Sri Lanka (type), India, Myanmar, China, Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia.


Ecology : Commonly found in paddy fields, by roadsides, open and disturbed areas, near sea level to 1,000 m alt. Flowering: mostly November–January.


Vernacular : Khram khon (ครามขน).
