Description : Deciduous tree to 30 m tall or more; young shoots, young leaves and inflorescences densely pubescent. Stipules linear, 5−10 mm long, very early caducous. Leaves 10−30 cm long; petioles 2−5 cm long; rachis 3.5−20 cm long, pubescent. Leaflets 3−13, ovate, oblong to lanceolate, 4.5−12 by 2.5−7 cm, terminal one larger than the others, apex acute to acuminate, mucronate, base rounded to cuneate, coriaceous, upper surface puberulous to pubescent, lower surface more densely; midrib raised above, lateral veins 9−13 pairs; petiolules 3−5 mm long. Inflorescences in leaf axils, sometimes terminal, usually raceme, rarely branched, 5−15 cm long; bracts and bracteoles lanceolate to linear lanceolate, 3−5 mm long, very early caducous; pedicels 5−10 mm long, pubescent. Calyx 5−6 mm long, pubescent. Corolla yellow to orangish yellow; standard broadly ovate to orbicular, 7−9 mm in diam., apex emarginate, base cuneate, claw 5−6 mm long; wings oblong, 7−9 by 4−5 mm, claw ca 3.5 mm long; keel oblong, 6−7 by ca 3 mm, claw ca 3.5 mm long. Stamens monadelphous or diadelphous, usually 5+5. Ovary densely hairy; ovules 2−4. Pods orbicular, 5−10 cm in diam., pubescent, 1−4-seeded. Seeds oblong-reniform, 7.5−9 by 3.5−4 mm, reddish brown to dark brown.
