Description : Tree 15–30 m tall; young shoots glabrous or glabrescent except for inflorescences puberulous to pubescent, glabrescent. Stipules small, very early caducous. Leaves 15–25 cm long; petioles 3–5 cm long; rachis 10–18 cm long. Leaflets 9–13, ovate-oblong to ovate-lanceolate, 4–8 by 1.5–3 cm, apex obtuse to acute, often with apiculate tip, base cuneate to rounded, glabrous on both surfaces; lateral veins 9–12 pairs, tertiary veins and reticulation distinct on both surfaces; petiolules 3–4 m long. Inflorescences terminal and subterminal, paniculate, 10–15 cm long; bracts and bracteoles small, very early caducous; pedicels ca 1 mm long. Calyx ca 4.5 mm long, glabrous to glabrescent. Corolla lilac; standard orbicular, emarginate, ca 7 mm in diam., claw ca 2 mm long; wings ca 7 by 3.5 mm long, claw ca 2 mm long; keel ca 5 by 2.5–3 mm long, claw ca 7 mm long. Stamens 10, in 2 lateral bundles of 5+5. Ovary hairy at base and along the sutures; ovules 3–4; stipe hairy. Pods lanceolate, 9–14 by 2.5–4 cm, glabrous, 1–3-seeded. Seeds reniform, ca 9 by 12 mm, reddish brown to dark brown.
Thailand : Widespread throughout the country.
Distribution : Myanmar (type), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam.
Ecology : Mixed deciduous and dry evergreen forests, 100–700 m alt., rarely to 1,500 m alt.
