Description : Tree 10–30 m tall; young shoots and inflorescences pubescent. Stipules small, caducous. Leaves 10–20 cm long; petioles 2–3 cm long; rachis 8–10 cm long, puberulous to pubescent. Leaflets 9–15, oblong to oblong-obovate, 2.5–4.5 by 1.5–2 cm, apex rounded to emarginate, rarely acute or obtuse, base rounded to obtuse, dark brown to black when dry, upper surface glabrous, lower surface glabrescent to puberulous; lateral veins 7–9 pairs, thin, distinct on both surfaces, tertiary veins and reticulation distinct on lower surface; petiolules 2–3 mm long. Inflorescences terminal and in upper leaf axils, paniculate, 3–10 cm long; bracts and bracteoles small, early caducous; pedicels ca 1.5 mm long. Calyx ca 4.5 mm long, densely hairy. Corolla whitish; standard narrowly obovate, ca 4.5 by 3 mm. emarginate, claw ca 2 mm long; wings ca 5 by 2 mm long, claw ca 2 mm long, keel ca 3.5 by 2 mm, claw ca 2 mm long. Stamens 10, in 2 lateral bundles of 5+5. Ovary hairy at base and along the sutures; ovules 2–3; stipe hairy. Pods oblong, 6.5–8 by 2.3–2.5 cm, black, 1–2-seeded. Seeds reniform, ca 6.5 by 9.5 mm, dark brown to black.
