Description : Stoloniferous perennial herbs, producing dense rosettes of leaves, pubescent. Stipules linear-lanceolate, 5–9 by 0.75–1 mm, dentate to fimbriate, glabrous. Leaves elliptic, ovate to suborbicular, 1.2–4.5 by 1.2–3 cm, pubescent; apex rounded; margin crenate, ciliate; base cuneate, subtruncate to subcordate, attenuate onto the petiole; petioles 1.5–4.5 cm long, distinctly winged, sparsely pubescent, glabrescent. Flowers: pedicels 1.5–7 cm long, sparsely hairy, glabrescent; bracteoles at the middle or in the upper half; sepals linear-lanceolate, 3–6 by 0.5–1 mm, entire, sparsely hairy, glabrescent; appendage ca 0.5 mm long, rounded; petals white or pale blue, with dark blue veins, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 8–10 by 3–5 mm; lateral petals not bearded; spur 0.5–1 mm long, cylindrical, obtuse, equaling or exceeding calycine appendage; style ca 1.5 mm long, geniculate at base, clavate at apex, with 2 stigmatic lobes. Fruits oblong to ellipsoid, 4–6 mm long, glabrous. Seeds ellipsoid, ca 0.5 mm long, brown.
Thailand : NORTHERN: Chiang Mai (Doi Inthanon NP, Doi Ang Khang), Nan (Doi Phu Kha NP, Phu Huat).
Distribution : Himalayas (type from Nepal), India, China, Japan, Taiwan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines.
Ecology : Hill evergreen forests, in shade, 1,300–1,800 m alt. Flowering and fruiting: September–January.
